SANTA MARIA, CA (January 20, 2012) – Four local Santa Maria Bands will come together Monday, January 23, 2012 from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph High School in Santa Maria to perform a benefit concert for St. Jude Children’s Hospital. The musical extravaganza, organized by St. Joseph High School alum, Gabriel Marin, will feature the talents of area bands; The Only Rational Thing, Time for Secrets, Liquid Grasshopper, and Brandon Martinez & Cody Taecker. The event is open to the public with a $4 donation, all of which will go directly to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
“This is a great opportunity to do what we love to do as well as give back to the community”, says Time for Secrets band member and current St. Joseph High School student, Mike Teixeira. Concert organizer Marin further states “St. Jude’s is a great organization benefiting children and we wanted to do something to help out…we wanted to follow through on our awareness of them. It’s great that St. Joe’s is allowing us to use their campus to hold this concert and the majority of these band members are either current students or alumni of the school”.
Tickets for the concert are available at the door. Because the concert will be held outdoors, a rain date has been set for February 16 at 5:30.
