Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary High Boys Basketball interviewed by KNBC 4

MONTEBELLO, CA. (January 18, 2012) Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary’s outstanding boys basketball player, Jose Estrada-Stone, was interviewed by KNBC Channel 4 Sports Reporter, Mario Solis.  The interview took place in the CSHM gymnasium on campus.  The focus of the interview was regarding Stones transfer to Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary from the town of Los Mochis in Sinaloa, Mexico. Jose, a junior, gained attention when the team won its own CSHM Cardinal Classic Holiday Basketball Tournament a few weeks back.

“I am happy to be playing at Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary”, said Estrada-Stone.  “I love my teammates and we communicate very well”. Reporter Solis was impressed with the modesty of young Estrada-Stone and his willingness to credit his fellow teammates with his success. “We are a team. We help one another to win basketball games” said Jose.

Other players that were interviewed were sophomore, Joey Covarrubias and senior, Corey Collins.

They both were quoted as saying “We take it one game at a time. We know we cannot get too far ahead of ourselves. We have a lot of work ahead of us.”

Coach George Zedan, in his first year as head coach of the Cardinals, is very excited for this season.

“When we were able to win our tournament against Oceanview High School, I knew we had a special group of guys. Jose is an exceptional player and I know he will work hard. He has the support of his teammates who are also dedicated to make this season a great one.”

The KNBC 4 interview should be televised by the end of this week. The school is very excited about the 2012 CSHM basketball season.
