Why Us

“Why us” is a question that has kept us striving for better performance, strong moral character and a deeper commitment to faith. This question has kept our journey on a steady path to a brighter future for both our students and schools. We are a proud group of educators that have a dedication to our students, faith, families and communities.

Catholic schools have a long standing tradition of educating youth to a higher degree of success. Catholic schools help establish a spirit of faith, family, and community in their students. The education a child receives stays with them their entire life and can be the basis from which they orient themselves with the world. Shouldn’t that education be a Catholic education? Our schools provide the best foundation for a child no matter how big they dream. Catholic education expects and guides their students to become success in life, “…expectations of behavior, dress, attitude, and consequences. Intrinsic to clearly articulated expectations is the building of character. Students taking responsibility for their behavior knowing that their actions have not only an impact on them but on others [as well]” (Galt, B.V.M.). The children rise to meet the expectations that their schools’ maintain while they build a strong moral character throughout their education in a Catholic environment. Our Catholic schools have a higher graduation and college acceptance rate than many other schools in the region, “the students… have overwhelmingly benefited from a Catholic School education; they are continuing and graduating at rates that far exceed their peers in other schools” (Higareda, Litton, Martin, and Mendoza 17). Our pledge to educate students to become successful citizens is reflected in how hard the children work to meet and exceed the hopes we have for them. The institution of faith that the schools and education is build on encourage the students to remain grounded in faith as they reach for the sky and fulfill their dreams.

Our dedication to faith and tradition is a cornerstone in our educational system. From this strong moral base we build our students’ character, their understanding of the world around, and a strong sense of faith, “A faith-based institution is training young people to see the needs of the less fortunate in our global village, to become responsible citizens in our world” (Galt, B.V.M.). The character building that is developed through Catholic education radiates throughout our communities and helps build stronger connections throughout the world as we bring together and help those around us. Our commitment to education, academic excellence and the Catholic tradition can be felt throughout the region in the lives of countless students and alumni of a Catholic education, “Alumni are making contributions to society and attribute their life success to their Catholic school education” (Higareda, Litton, Martin, and Mendoza 17). Community is one of the most important parts of Catholic education. From the students to the teachers, the parents and family members, and the schools to our society, the Catholic faith brings us together in support of the next generation of great minds for the better of all.

Our pledge to educate the youth within the archdiocese is extended to every child regardless of their background. We provide an affordable education at the highest levels for everyone. Each and every child has a place in Catholic education, “A Catholic School is a place where a true sense of belonging is present. Each child is part of a family; a community… every child has a status, a place in the school” (Galt, B.V.M.).The importance of a safe and comfortable environment is another key factor in a good learning experience and our schools hold these areas in the highest regard. Students succeed at the highest levels when they are safe and encouraged to do so. A Catholic education provides the necessary environment for success. Through the strong sense of purpose Catholic schools instill in their students, the students build connections to a higher understanding and a dedication to become lifelong learners.

Ready to succeed at the highest levels in academics, faith, and global perspective? Come see what a Catholic education does to make the future that much brighter!
