
Ms. Elena Vasquez Mc Cutcheon
Christ the King School

Ms. Elena Vasquez Mc Cutcheon is an energetic, dynamic person who is president of the Christ the King School Parent Board. Her full time job is manager of Callanan and Woods Scovern Mortuary in Glendale. She has a son in the 5th grade class at Christ the King School. Ms. Vasquez Mc Cutcheon is actively involved in all of the school’s fundraising events. She is currently co-chairing the committee that is organizing the Autumn Eve Dinner Dance and Auction at the Wilshire Country Club. She is extremely dedicated and works tirelessly to raise funds for all school activities. Her bright, outgoing, cheerful personality makes her a pleasure with whom to work. Ms. Vasquez Mc Cutcheon is also involved in raising funds for Cops for Kids and is active in collecting toys for underprivileged children. She is a tremendous asset to our school and parish community.

Mr. Paul Murphy
Our Lady of the Rosary School
Paramount
Having a Murphy involved in Our Lady of the Rosary (OLR) activities is traditional. Mr. Paul Murphy‘s father, Mike, was a coach at Our Lady of the Rosary for many years and his grandmother was the school secretary. Mr. Murphy, with the support his wife Annaluz, is Emergency Coordinator. Together they have updated and revised the emergency evacuation procedures. He is the Committee Chairman for the school’s annual Casino Night and Dance. He is responsible for its revival eight years ago and has been in charge since day one. Anna and Paul Murphy are parents of three children. Deanna, a seventh grader at OLR is a good student and a reverent altar server. Liam is nine and Ian is seven years old. Mr. Murphy is respected and well liked by the youth of the parish. Mr. Murphy is helping mold their minds– the future practitioners of our faith. As the Youth Leader and Confirmation Director for the parish, he works to instill in young one’s hearts, a keen sense of prayer and continued support for the church, financially and through service projects. He teaches by example just as he was taught by his ancestors. He is also a member of the parish Finance Committee. In addition to the many roles he takes in the school and parish, he manages to fit college courses at California State University, Long Beach into his busy schedule. Ms. Celene Borgatello
Notre Dame School
Santa Barbara
Ms. Celene Borgatello’s roots at Notre Dame School in Santa Barbara run very deep and span generations. As a child, Ms. Borgatello and her six brothers and sisters attended Notre Dame while her father participated on the parent council. Ms. Borgatello’s mother also attended Notre Dame, which was at that time called Catholic High School. As a student, Ms. Borgatello has very warm memories of her time at Notre Dame where she attended from 1st through 8th grade, graduating in 1986. She formed lifelong friendships and remembers fondly Sister Georgianna Coonis, who was the principal at the time. She participated on many athletic teams: volleyball, soccer, basketball and track. As an 8th grader, Ms. Borgatello received the coveted Notre Dame Athlete of the Year Award. Ms. Borgatello went on to Bishop Garcia Diego High School in Santa Barbara, graduating with the class of 1990. From there, she attended California State University, Long Beach. In 1995, Celene married Brian Borgatello who had also attended Santa Barbara Catholic schools. Both Mr. & Mrs. Borgatello strongly value the benefits of a Catholic education. Ms. Borgatello’s involvement with Notre Dame has only escalated as she and Brian have their four children, pre-school through 8th grade, currently enrolled at the school. She has served as Room Parent, helps in the classrooms, and also helps with classroom fundraisers. In addition, Ms. Borgatello is the Athletic Director for the after school sports program and coaches the volleyball teams. Ms. Borgatello’s involvement at Notre Dame goes beyond her work in the classroom and working in the day-to-day functions of the school. Currently, Ms. Borgatello is co-chairing the annual auction, Dancing with the Notre Dame Stars, which will be held on Saturday, February 5th at the Bacara Resort. She also is a member of the Notre Dame Board of Directors, giving of time, talent and treasure; thereby doing her part to ensure the long-term success of the school. Ms. Borgatello is a highly respected member of the Notre Dame community. The principal of the school, Anne Chenoweth, says of her, “Celene is an alumna who is extremely dedicated to Notre Dame. She constantly donates to the school in various ways. She is an inspiration as a parent and as an alumna, and her contributions as well as her positive attitude make a wonderful difference in the Notre Dame School community.”

Mr. Jerry Prieto
Bishop Alemany High School
Mission Hills
Mr. Jerry Prieto is an outstanding parent of Bishop Alemany High School. Mr. Prieto is an alumnus of both Alemany High School and Santa Rosa Elementary school. Two of Mr. Jerry Prieto’s step daughters are recent Alemany graduates, and he currently has a step daughter in the 10th grade at Alemany. Mr. Prieto is an avid photographer and can be found at almost all of our events taking pictures to document the occasion. He is always available to help Alemany’s Outreach and Alumni offices when they need a special photograph. In addition to helping with photography Mr. Prieto, was instrumental in securing the sponsorship for our new Warrior mascot. He helped his daughters with the Golf team, helping them to secure prizes for a raffle, and in selling tickets for the raffle. He assisted Alemany with participation in “Million Trees LA” as well as the Mayor’s Day of Service. Currently, Mr. Prieto is working on starting a Dad’s Club at Bishop Alemany High School. This club will help to bring dads together to feel connected to the campus; the club will enjoy social activities as well as take on projects to improve the school.
