Athletics

Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles are proud to offer a wide variety of athletic programs for boys and girls.

They strive to cultivate a positive, inclusive atmosphere where participants can explore and grow their abilities while competing against student-athletes from other schools.

Athletics are seen as an extension of the classroom, instilling character and life skills that develop the whole person, such as teamwork, integrity, cooperation, perseverance, and sportsmanship.

With numerous sports offered throughout elementary and high school, there is a place for students of all interest and ability levels to shine.

Most Catholic high schools in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles that participate in interscholastic athletics are members of the Catholic Athletic Association (CAA). High schools are also members of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section.

Elementary schools that provide after-school sports programs participate in the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) or in locally administered sports leagues.

Because each Catholic school manages and operates its own athletics program,  we encourage you to explore the website of your school of interest.
